Mobile maintenance
 – faster, easier, more secure, better documented

Maximum safety for employees and property, protection against outages – to achieve this, technical systems, components, production systems and equipment must be in good working order.

And here is where Mobile Maintenance comes in.

For maintenance that takes less time and saves costs, you need an integrated system, especially when the equipment is separated by substantial physical distances. Tagpilot’s Mobile Maintenance is just such an integrated system – service, inspection and documentation are simplified, partially automated and made transparent within a single system.

The special features of Mobile Maintenance
with Tagpilot/Tagpilot Mobile

Linked to back end systems or as stand-alone solution? Both are possible!

Mobile Maintenance with Tagpilot runs independently and therefore can fulfill the demand of many departments for a solution that can be implemented quickly. However, at a later date it can easily be linked to leading back end systems -- such as SAP – as the next logical step in expanding mobile maintenance. Tagpilot has data link adapters for this purpose.

Number and type of hardware devices? Complete freedom!

Tagpilot’s Mobile Maintenance offers users freedom in two respects. First, in terms of the Auto-ID technology they select, because Tagpilot Mobile can process GPS data as well as barcode and transponder readings. Second, in terms of MDE devices, because Tagpilot Mobile runs on every Windows Mobile-compatible device.

Which objects are being inspected where – and by whom? Clear beyond a doubt!

To clearly identify the objects and/or components being inspected, the employees read the Auto-ID tags on the objects themselves using either MDE devices or NFC mobile telephones. This avoids mix-ups not only when first identifying the object, but also in all subsequent inputs during the inspection process. And the system automatically documents that the inspection was carried out on time. Beyond a doubt.

Inspection processes? Precisely mapped on the MDE interfaces!

After the inspectors log on, they each automatically receive their inspection assignments on their MDE interfaces from the central job administration. Intuitive, easy-to-use menus guide them through each step of the inspection – even in off-line mode – and allow simple operation, even for non-specialists. This helps ensure that the process is being performed correctly, especially when it comes to process steps that are seldom carried out.

Changes in the process sequence? No need to re-program!

All MDE devices are equipped with Tagpilot Mobile. Tagpilot Mobile provides for a strict separation of functionality and application logic. Why? Because the application logic is what is differs from application to application. And it is very easy to configure. It can even be done in-house by the user, resulting in a minimum of costs.

Central job administration? Fully automatic!

Tagpilot administers all jobs in a central location and distributes them automatically to the individual testing devices.  Every type of testing process is easy to configure – whether preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance or repair after an outage; whether visual inspection or functional testing, time-based or condition-based servicing … Once it has been installed, this solution can be expanded and applied to practically all Mobile Maintenance use cases with a minimum of effort.

Secure documentation? Available at all times in a central database!

During inspection, all inputs are documented immediately on site in the MDE devices and transferred to Tagpilot (later) via an online connection. Tagpilot receives and documents the results of completed jobs, including such information as who performed the inspection, the date, the identification of the object inspected and, in cases of malfunction, the type of malfunction. The easy-to-use interface ensures that

  • The object undergoing inspection was correctly identified
  • Every step of the inspection is performed
  • Every step of the inspection is documented, including the time and the result
